eIDAS

Electronic identification and trust services across the EU.

The eIDAS Regulation, amended by eIDAS 2 in 2024, sets rules for electronic identification, electronic signatures and seals, time stamps and trust service providers, and introduces the European Digital Identity Wallet. Qualified signatures have the same legal effect as handwritten ones across member states.

01. WHO IT APPLIES TO

Is this one yours?

01Organizations relying on electronic signatures or seals in EU processes
02Trust service providers and relying parties
03Workflows where agent approvals need legally meaningful signatures
02. KEY REQUIREMENTS

The parts of eIDAS that touch what agents do.

Art. 25–26: Electronic signatures
Advanced signatures are uniquely linked to the signer and detect subsequent change.
Art. 35–36: Electronic seals
Seals ensure the origin and integrity of data from a legal person.
Art. 41–42: Time stamps
Qualified time stamps bind data to a time so that undetected change is precluded.
Art. 24: Trust service providers
Qualified providers meet security and audit requirements.
03. HOW LORE MAPS TO IT

Enforcement controls, read against the requirement.

These controls exist because the platform needs them to run safely. The crosswalk reads their signed evidence against eIDAS. Where there is no evidence, the report says gap.

04. OUT OF SCOPE

What Lore will not claim.

Lore is not a qualified trust service provider. Qualified signatures and time stamps come from a provider you choose.
The legal effect of a given signature type is a legal determination.
05. QUESTIONS
Is a Lore receipt an eIDAS signature?
A receipt is an integrity-protected record signed by a Lore key. It can carry a qualified seal or time stamp from a provider, but Lore does not issue them.
What changed with eIDAS 2?
The European Digital Identity Wallet and new qualified trust services, including electronic ledgers.
What does "modeled regime" mean?
Obligations and deadlines are tracked as data, so you can see what applies to a workflow and when.
